Fairy Tales (Discontinued)

Forced to move to a new town, 15-year-old Kiki Manders has been given a much-needed chance to start her life over. However, that's not so easy when your family thinks you're crazy. Kiki's certainly does, and maybe they're right. After all, her best friend is a fairy that nobody else can see. And that's the LEAST of her worries. Family trauma, high school drama, and the paranormal; Kiki's life may not be easy, but at least it's never dull.

New Beginnings by skylarke
July 17th, 2017, 12:18 pm
Thank you all for your support over the years! Fairy Tales has been on a permanent hiatus for almost three years now. At the end of 2017, it will be taken down completely. But it isn’t the end. Rather, a new beginning. There will be an important announcement coming soon!

Finally! by skylarke
October 10th, 2014, 2:58 pm
Hi guys! Long time no see. I just want to reiterate how grateful I am that you're all so patient. We all want more updates, but we artists are only human, I'm afraid.

A large part of what took this particular page so long is that I had to focus on another project; a 8-page penciling submission for Dark Horse Comics. It was a great experience and I've learned a lot. I was able to take it to Rose City Comicon prior to sending it in for review, and got some great and useful feedback. :) I'll be working on another submission soon, this time from my own script (which is a WIP at the moment).

After that, I was summoned for jury duty and chosen. This oh-so-special jury lasts for weeks and will, as you can imagine, significantly decrease both my free time and mental energy for working on Fairy Tales. This will, unfortunately affect future page releases, but I will try to keep that to a minimum as best I can.

Oh, and then the pen of my tablet broke. I fixed it, it broke again a week later, I fixed it AGAIN, and 2 weeks later it was broken for good. I bought a replacement, but suffered from art withdrawals waiting for it to arrive. BUT, with luck, I will be good on the tech side for a while. -crosses fingers-

These aren't excuses, but rather simply to help you understand what's going on. You all probably don't even care so long as you eventually get your pages. XD

So again, thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support. It means the world to me. <3

Fairy Tales "Feed The Author" Fund by skylarke
May 16th, 2014, 12:26 pm
You guys may have noticed that I added a donate button above the author comments on comic pages. This is for what I call the "Feed the Author" Fund. Fairy Tales is a labor of love and as much as I want nothing better than to work on it all the time, I have responsibilities that get in the way. If that burden can be eased in even the smallest of degrees, I can allow myself more time and energy to devote to Fairy Tales.

I'm not expecting anything from you all, my precious readers. I just wanted to put it out there in case you think Fairy Tales is worth the contribution. Who knows, if the fund amounts to anything, maybe we can work out some incentive or other, such as extra updates or bonus content? Let me know what you think!

Redo Wednesday by skylarke
January 15th, 2014, 11:21 am
Hey Guys! I redid another page in chapter 1. Click here to read. I combined two pages into one, so it'll throw off the numbering for a little while 'til I go in and fix it. :)I'll be posting more redo pages on a weekly basis (more or less) while new updates will be every other Friday. I'll post links to new pages on the current page, but if you want to keep up with the revamps you can always follow me on Facebook or Twitter! ;)

Return to Schedule & Possible Delays by skylarke
January 7th, 2014, 1:04 pm
Updates resumed last Friday back to the old schedule of redo pages on Wednesdays and new pages on Fridays. However, this week will be a difficult week for me since my mom is having major surgery tomorrow and will be out of commission for three months. I should be able to update as promised, but I'm not sure how this next week, and the following three months, will affect Fairy Tales. Fingers crossed, everyone.
